A choral ensemble for the Central Oregon Coast
Thank you to everyone who came out for our Wishes & Candles concerts! We hope you enjoyed the music and that you all have a wonderful holiday season!
And just so you don’t miss it, mark your calendars for our spring concerts. We will be partying on Mardi Gras again this year so come out for a Tuesday evening session of jazz, spirituals, and other New Orleans style singing, special guests, The Shoreline Stompers (who always bring down the house!), a reprise of our Second Line Parade, and a post-concert dessert buffet (get your sugar on before Lent starts!) See you on March 5th! We’re also planning our Anything Goes concerts for the last weekend of April and the first weekend of May. Stay tuned for details.
Want to join in the fun? We will be having auditions for new singers on Wednesday, January 9 from 4 to 6 pm at the Oregon Coast Community College, South Beach. Check out the blog for more details on what’s involved. We’d love to add some great new voices to our group so come auditions or encourage your friends who sing to come try out.
The Central Coast Chorale
The Central Coast Chorale was founded in 1997 by Mary Lee Scoville and several local residents so that we could enjoy singing in a convivial and professional setting.
Women of Note
Our small group of women singers is called Women of Note. This auditioned ensemble steps out from the main chorale to perform separately at our concerts and on select other occasions.
Voices at the Coast
Our newest project, Voices at the Coast, is a summer day camp for teens studying small group, close harmony, a cappella singing. The Chorale believes strongly that we must support the musical education of the next generation of singers so we have worked to fund and organize this opportunity for local youth. Learn more at the link.
The Chorus generally performs three major concerts per year. This year we'll start off with two concerts in September with the Newport Symphony Orchestra and then we're planning a series of holiday concerts in December. We'll sing two programs in the spring session. Continue to our Events page to see upcoming performance details.
