This song is part of the same song cycle as the Wassail Song that we sang at Christmas. Hopefully it won’t give us the same sort of fits. I do think those big interval leaps may be tough. Suddenly solfege practice sounds like a good idea.
This is one of those songs where Musescore really doesn’t do a very good job of conveying the sense of the piece. It can help you with the notes but it really doesn’t convey the way the sustained chant works at the beginning and the end. I highly recommend you listen to one of the recordings first before you listen to the part files.
One of the things Musescore doesn’t do well is hold sustained notes (well it can, but that opens a whole nother can of worms) so please remember to hold the held notes through all the counts and not stop singing just because you can’t hear Musescore holding the note.
To listen to a track, just click on the line you want to hear. To stop, click the pause button on the album cover. You can “fast forward” or '“rewind” a track buy dragging the moving line to the right or left. If you’d like to save a track to your computer for use off line, right click on the line and choose “save as” and then respond to the box that pops up.
