A choral ensemble for the Central Oregon Coast
It’s Almost Time for MARDI GRAS!
Mark your calendars for March 5th! We will be partying on Mardi Gras again this year so come out for a Tuesday evening session of jazz, spirituals, and other New Orleans style singing, special guests, The Shoreline Stompers (who always bring down the house!), a reprise of our Second Line Parade, and a post-concert dessert buffet (get your sugar on before Lent starts!) Check our blog post for details. See you on March 5th!
We’re also planning our Anything Goes concerts for the last weekend of April and the first weekend of May. We’ll be in Yachats at the Commons on April 27 and in Lincoln City at the Cultural Center on April 28 and then we’ll finish up our season with our final concert in Newport at the First Presbyterian Church on May 5. We’re working on an eclectic selection of pieces, everything from Whitacre and Copland to P.D.Q. Bach. Mark your calendars now!
The Central Coast Chorale
The Central Coast Chorale was founded in 1997 by Mary Lee Scoville and several local residents so that we could enjoy singing in a convivial and professional setting.
Women of Note
Our small group of women singers is called Women of Note. This auditioned ensemble steps out from the main chorale to perform separately at our concerts and on select other occasions.
The Chorus generally performs three major concerts per year. The 2018-19 season started off with two concerts in September with the Newport Symphony Orchestra and a series of holiday concerts in December. In March we’ll reprise our popular Mardi Gras concert and we’ll finish up the year with our Anything Goes series in late April and early May.
